Safety in aesthetics should never be assumed… it should be demonstrated.
As part of our commitment to fairness, transparency and raising standards within the industry, the Beauty & Aesthetics Awards will now be implementing a three-tier Safety Verification process for treatment-based categories.
Safety Verification is available both within the awards process and as a standalone application.
Recognising practitioners who demonstrate the essential safety standards expected within professional aesthetics.
• Valid professional indemnity and public liability insurance
• Relevant qualifications or training certificates for the treatments performed
• Images of a clean and appropriate treatment environment
• Evidence of a clinical sharps or hazardous waste contract (for needle based treatments)
• Consultation and informed consent procedures
• Client record keeping systems
• Use of regulated products sourced from reputable suppliers
• Clear pricing transparency
• Written complication management protocols
• Emergency preparedness such as First Aid, BLS or anaphylaxis awareness
• Infection control protocols including PPE, sterilisation and hygiene procedures
• Local authority licences or registrations where required
• Ongoing CPD or additional training
• Ethical marketing practices with unedited treatment imagery
Practitioners meeting these standards may be awarded the BAA Safety Excellence Verified badge.
• Advanced complication management processes
• Structured clinical protocols and documentation
• Evidence of advanced education or regulated qualifications
• Clinical governance or risk management systems
• Strong professional reputation supported by verified client feedback
• Demonstrated commitment to raising safety standards within the industry
Practitioners achieving this level will receive the BAA Clinical Safety Excellence badge and will also be considered for our Clinical Safety Excellence award category.
At the point of being shortlisted, practitioners will have the opportunity to submit further evidence should they wish to be considered for our higher Safety Verification tiers, recognising increasing levels of safety standards within professional practice.
Apply for Safety Verification
Safety Verification is available to both awards entrants and non-awards applicants.
If you are not entering the awards, you can still apply for full Safety Verification and be assessed based on the standards demonstrated within your practice.
How it works
• Submit your full documentation and evidence upfront
• Your practice will be assessed against all Safety Verification tiers
• You will be placed directly into the appropriate level based on your standards
• Feedback may be provided where required
Assessment Fee
A full assessment fee applies for non-awards applicants.
This reflects the level of review, verification and administration required to assess documentation, governance systems and clinical processes in full.
Ongoing Verification
Safety Verification is not a one-time process.
To maintain your verified status, an annual subscription is required. This ensures:
• Continued listing within the BAA Safe Practitioners Directory
• Ongoing use of your verification badge
• Annual review to maintain standards
